N.S.S College, Manjeri.....One of the beautiful and oldest college in Malappuram



NSS College, Manjeri, an Arts and Science college managed by Nair Service Society and affiliated to the University of Calicut is situated amidst the beautiful hills of Manjeri, a muncipal town of Malappuram a northern district of ‘Gods own Country’, Kerala. The scenic background of the hills and the serene calmness of the altitude sets an ideal atmosphere for the exploration of the higher realms of learning. Like the other 23 colleges owned by Nair Service Society, this college also owes its origin to its esteemed founder Padmabhushan Sri. Mannathu Padmanabhan. The generosity of Sri.P.M.Thirumulpad helped him a great deal to start a college at Manjeri. The College was inaugurated by Sri.P.M.Thirumulpad on 15th July 1965. The jubilee of the institution was celebrated with all splendor in 1990 and a new two storied block was declared opened by Sri.P.K.Narayana Panicker, General Secretary, Nair Service Society.

To impart quality education in all branches of learning, Arts, Science, Commerce, Management and Oriental and Occidental Languages inculcating the cultural, social and political awareness among the student community enrolled through merit. All students are trained in social services, environmental problems and the need for developing empathy towards fellow being thus promoting love, affection, compassion to make them good citizens. Students are exposed to career development, entrepreneurship development aiming at poverty eradication and employment generation. They are introduced to the benefits of technological development and Information Technology and rigorous physical training. The college will strive to work beyond the limits and limitations of time.
